Bridge collapses with truck full of sand!

The pictures you are looking at is of the bridge that leads to Lifeline. We were aware that the bridge across the canal was becoming very weak and had cracked in a few places so we had plans to repair it. We had already purchased the cement and rebar that was required and was awaiting for the load of sand to get started. The load of sand came late in the day, and when it did the driver took a turn into the mission on this already cracked bridge and it gave way and broke. The wheel of this large dump truck went down in the hole and if that was not enough the rain came and made things worse.

The men sent for a large school bus and many jacks to raise the truck out of the hole and pull it from the area where it had dropped down. Our sand had to be dumped in the middle of the road to lighten the load enough to get the truck jacked up. The men worked diligently in the pouring rain. There is a bright ending to the story, NO ONE was hurt and they did get the truck out of the hole safely.

Now today, our work is to rebuild the bridge, of course this is an extra expense on the mission that we were not counting on, but no one can pass to the mission if this bridge is not repaired. This morning this is the number one priority! I am very thankful that it didn't happen on Monday because we have a team coming and we would not have been able to meet them at the airport! You see even in the worst of times, God has His plan to take care of things at the right time. I want to just lift my hands unto the Lord this morning and Praise Him for His Almighty goodness to us in everything!!
