Walley Mercius

This is Walley Mercius. He is about to be two months old and he weighs no more then three pounds. His mother has a disease and was very sick when she was pregnant with him and had to have an emergency c-section at only 6 ½ months. He barely survived. His mother is still sick. She has no milk for him.

Walley is the youngest of four children. The oldest child is six years old. His family used to live in Port-au-Prince but after the earthquake they lost everything. They now live in Williamson. They rent one room for their entire family. Imagine a family of four living in one tiny room!

Walley’s aunt knew that Lifeline could help her nephew. She brought him to us today via tap-tap. It took her 30 minutes in the hot, sticky, packed full tap-tap then she had to come another three miles on the back of a bumpy motorcycle. Can you imagine a woman driving on a motorcycle with a baby just to bring him here for food?

Today we were able to send Walley back to his mom with, formula, baby food, a love bundle for him and a love bundle for his mother. Because of support from people just like you, Lifeline is able to take care of sweet babies like Walley on a regular basis!
