Jelensky

Three month old Jelensky from Barbancourt first came to us Saturday night.

Like most who come to Lifeline to receive help, he was brought first on a tap-tap then on a motorcycle. Immediately we thought he was badly burned. His skin seemed to be peeling from his flesh.

His mother said he was not burned but she didn’t know what was wrong with him. He had been like that since Tuesday and was only getting worse. The poor baby screamed out in pain as we tried to help him.

Lifeline took him to the burn clinic close to Port-Au-Prince. Turns out precious Jelensky had a really bad case of staff infection. The doctor said he could have died from it.

Praise God we were able to get him some help in time. Since Saturday we’ve gone back everyday to clean his wounds, give him more medicine, and fresh bandages.

We’ve seen much improvement already! This much loved baby is going to be just fine.

  1. Hi Carrie
Love the hair! Just wanted to let you know it was great to meet you and experience your first week in Haiti with our group from Minnesota. I have no doubt that I will be back...watching all the medical care you do for these beautiful children and what little I was able to help while I was there in June. Keep up the loving work! Dr. Patty Waples, MN
